…558 youths trained in Information and Communication Technology, 76 Constituency Projects across Lagos East Senatorial District
Senator Bareehu Olugbenga Ashafa has announced that 15, 242 constituents have benefitted from his Mega Empowerment Programme which kicked-off on 21st of August, 2014 at Ibeju-Lekki and that 558 youths have also been trained in Information & Communication Technology (ICT).
Speaking today at the Ikorodu Town Hall, venue of the Ikorodu phase of the Mega Empowerment, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District also added that 76 constituency projects across the senatorial district have been executed.
“It is pertinent to state here that this Mega empowerment programme was flagged off on the 21st of August, 2014 at Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Lekki LCDA at Iberekodo Primary School, Ibeju-Lekki. This was followed by two consecutive Mega Empowerment Programmes at Shomolu Secretariat for the people of Somolu and Bariga on the 2nd of September, 2014 and the people of Epe, Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin at Epe Secretariat, on the 3rd of September, 2014.”
“A total of 15,242 party members who are artisans, traders, farmers and other less privilege people benefitted various from items distributed at these Empowerment programmes.” said Sen. Ashafa.
Ashafa giving his account of stewardship to the party leaders and generality of Ikorodu people, announced that 76 constituency projects have been executed through his efforts- 30 boreholes, 11 Classroom blocks, 2 Drainages Channels, 4 Ambulance Points, 22 Power Transformers, Streetlights on some arterial roads, 1 Skill Acquisition Centre and 1 science Laboratory.
At today’s Empowerment Programme in Ikorodu, over a thousand party members and constituents were empowered with automobiles, Tricycle, hair drying machines, Vulcanizing machines, School bags with educational materials, Phone Business Package (umbrella, phone, recharge cards, chair and table), Sewing machines, Grinding Machines, Power Generating Sets aamong others.
